Aren't dreams really fascinating? The fact that they seem so real and even prompt us to feel immense fear, love, joy, peace or any other feeling, and we physical react and act upon those feelings in the dream like maybe feeling immense fear and even screaming out loud physically due to the events of fear in the dream makes them so intriguing.
Everything seems so real that we can't question it while in the dream until when we wake up and it dawns on us that it was just a dream. How are we to know that we are dreaming when we're completely immersed in the dream? Can we really know? There is no means of knowing we are only dreaming and it's not actual reality until we wake up. Which begs the question, what if we're in a dream in our everyday life too and just like in a dream we cannot really know we're dreaming unless we wake up?
Imagine waking up one day and you no longer know you; the you that you knew as a separate you no longer exists and you feel the new you is everything expanding outwardly to all planets and galaxies out in space, a you that is not bound by the boundary of your skin; a you that is limitless, a you that is the whole of existence.
A Buddha in buddhism means “the awaken one”. What does this awakened one wake up from? Obviously it's from a dream; a dream in which the individual views existence and reality from a standpoint of having an absolute meaning and purpose towards the individual's life; a dream of thinking that they are a separate special life form from the rest of existence. A dream of viewing and likening life with a journey that has a destination in the distance future while not realizing that the journey is the also the destination and that life is only happening in the eternal now.
Awakening from this dream comes with a feeling of Oneness with all of existence, one's boundaries of sensation is breached and they feel that everyone and everything is them and they are it. There's a feeling of the correctness of everything in existence and not even a single grain of sand is out of place.
There's a feeling of the eternity of one's Being beyond the physical body which eliminates the fear of physical death and births a new Self that is naturally contented, calm, loving, peaceful and blissful, and with a sense of acceptance of the ups-and-downs encountered in an individual's own life without resisting, fighting and worrying too much about anything in life.
A time is coming when men will become mad, and when they see a man who is not mad they will attack him, saying ”you are mad; you are not like us.”~ St Anthony the Great.
The society is living in a collective insanity, a sort of mass psychosis and sleepiness in which the majority of the population is living in an illusory world of man. This illusory world has been normalised by that majority as the ideal world and the few minority that has see through the veil of that illusion are viewed as different, abnormal and weird people in society yet in reality they are the people who have seen through the optical illusion of man's consciousness, the sane minds accused of being insane by the insane.
